Lasher Photography by Salvador Hernandez
Honorata Loza
The last person I photographed in my old house was Honorato Loza.
Yet another planned session that took an extremely long time to actually do. Nora and I met up at the house late afternoon and ended up shooting for several hours. Hundreds of shots later, a full CF card and in just about complete darkness, we finished up the session and left the house.
You might wonder why we were in complete darkness for a portion of the session. Well... since I moved out, I had cut off the power midway through the last week of having access to the house. So, at the time of the shoot... there was no power to the location. I must say, it was a tab bit hard to focus on composition when I could see nothing through the view finder of my camera. Lots of wasted shots just to figure out what I was aiming my camera at. LOL
We did manage to get quite a few completely different looks out of the session. It was fun and a good experience. It was only two or three days later when the final items of furniture were sold off and I turned in the keys to the house. Bye bye house! It was fun!
Anna Marie
As mentioned before, I had foreclosed on my home and moved out but still had the keys for a week. Perfect opportunity to use it as a place for photography and I definitely jump on the opportunity.
Anna Marie wanted a shoot but it took us about 6 months to actually get around to it. Now that I had the place and time for it, we met up and executed a quick shoot. A few different looks, outfits, and locations in the house and came off with a decent collection of photos for her.
During this session, I tried out a bit of a military theme but I wasn't completely satisfied with it. I know I can definitely do better and will be looking for someone to help out with that idea.
Ashley's First Time
It is always a pleasure to work with someone who is completely new to modeling and photography. Ashley was introduced to me via other people and she expressed interest in being photographed. I was honored to be able to be her first photographer and felt it was a great opportunity to get some practice in of my own. Quite a good arrangement if you ask me.
I had recently foreclosed on my home and was in the process of moving out and into a rental to save money (bad economy). So, since I had a house that was pretty much empty and still had the keys to it for another week, figured it would be a great place to use as a studio or set. Ashley and I ended up spending a few hours in the house taking hundreds of shots and trying various sorts of poses, lighting setups, and creative ideas.
Since we were both pretty much practicing and trying new things, we didn't end up with too many "quality" images but at least we got a small handful.

Valley Center for the Blind Guide Dogs
There has been a serious lack of updates here at Lasher Photography although there have been many sessions completed recently. From a combination of staying busy and other outside factors, the updates of photosets here on LasherPhoto.com have been neglected. Appologies to everyone who stops by to see what's been going on in my world.
Since there are a few completed and updates photo sets in the gallery, I will update a little starting with a two week project which I was contracted to do for Fresno's "Valley Center for the Blind".
The project is to photograph and produce 12 or 13 images to be used in an calendar for 2009 which will help raise funds for the center. We used one of the local small parks here in Fresno and met with the dogs and their owners over several days of the week. This was my first actual shoot with dogs and I must say.. I was quite impressed with my own work. Feel free to browse through the images, rate, and/or comment on the photos.
Also, there are several new albums in my Personal Photography section of the gallery. Mostly in the past years of 2000-2003. If you venture into my Personal albums to take a peek of my past life... enjoy!

"I met Sal Hernandez on MySpace through a friend. After seeing how good his work was, I set up an appointment to take some pictures with my boyfriend. When I arrived to his studio, I met his wife Vero and she was hella cool and I really clicked with her. I felt really comfortable at his studio and the session went well. Not only is Lasher Photography great, the hair and make up his wife does is excellent. I recommend him to anyone that needs professional pictures."
