Lasher Photography by Salvador Hernandez
On the way out
Open House, Valley Center for The Blind
Late last month, I was invited to an Open House for The Valley Center for The Blind. The event was hosted downtown at the Offices of The Valley Center for The Blind.
This event was mostly geared to raise awareness about the organization and it's services for the blind. I found it very hard to say no to the request to photograph at the event. I like to do whatever I can to help out others who are in need.
I had a great time there as well. Everyone was very friendly and in high spirits. There was great food and give-aways for those who attended. And before the event was over, there was a special treat for all via a live performance by musician Patrick Contreras.
Good times all around!
Crystal Delgado
So I have seriously lagged on releasing images from this session with Crystal Delgado last month. Part blame is on her for taking a long time to provide me with a list of her picks from the set and part blame is on me for taking a while to finish post production on the final picks.
So far, I have only worked on the very few images that she picked from the set. I will add more to this album later on when I get the time to go through it again and select my picks.
There really isn't much of a rush to complete this set since it was just another "Spur of the moment" photo shoot which was mostly brought on by her wanting to get a picture of her new hair-do.
Bikini Photos with Selin Esko
A couple of days ago, I had another great photo shoot. This time with Selin Esko (MySpace) who wanted some bikini photos for her MySpace profile. This was my second attempt at bikini shots and this time around it was decided that we would do indoor & outdoor shots.
With her extremely large house, we had plenty of areas to work with. And with numerous windows, there wasn't a lack of natural light. We did have to move some large furniture around but it was worth it. Who says you can't use just any old place for a photoshoot?!?
I, along with Selin, are impressed with the results of the session. Within one hour, I managed to take 600+ frames. We stopped when the CF card was full, which was right on cue with our time limits. After much proofing and editing, we finally agreed on 56 frames.
This is definitely a new style of photos for my portfolio. Much Thanks goes to Selin for allowing me to have the opportunity to photograph her.
Scenes Behind the Scenes
From time to time I like to use my cell phone and take "Behind the Scene" shots from the different photo shoots that I attend. I figured I would add them to my Personal albums to share with the rest of the world.
The first album I have created today is from a photo shoot where David Suarez was photographing females for the Miss ESPN contest in March of 2008. The photo shoot lasted about half the day but I only grabbed a few captures from the final couple of models.
I didn't shoot during this day. I only provided my equipment for David to use and helped provide some tips or guidance for using them. One of these days, he may make the images available for public view but for now, this is all there is to be seen.
The second album which I have added today is from a photo shoot by Veronica Hernandez in the alley next to The Look Salon in Fresno, CA. One of their clients just finished getting a new look (hair and makeup) and they decided to do a photoshoot for their hair portfolio. Vero called me at home and requested that I join them in the fun.
When I arrived, Vero and Crystal were in the alley snapping away photos. The sun was setting quickly and there wasn't much day light left. I busted out my trusty cell phone and took a couple shots and one quick video of Vero in action. Enjoy!

"I met Sal Hernandez on MySpace through a friend. After seeing how good his work was, I set up an appointment to take some pictures with my boyfriend. When I arrived to his studio, I met his wife Vero and she was hella cool and I really clicked with her. I felt really comfortable at his studio and the session went well. Not only is Lasher Photography great, the hair and make up his wife does is excellent. I recommend him to anyone that needs professional pictures."
