Lasher Photography by Salvador Hernandez
Alley Cats v2 @ The Look Salon
It's late in the afternoon and I receive a phone call from my wife. She is at her salon and one of their clients, Melissa, just finished getting a new look (hair style) and they want to do a photo shoot with her because she has an edgy look that fits with the Pink Mink Mafia myspace girls.
Alley Cats v2. The original idea was to just shoot her in the alley way which is located behind the salon. I started taking about 50 frames and then decided to switch it up. Instead of focusing on her hair, I asked her husband, Randy, to join her. I then started focusing on their tattoos and their overall look together.
This couple had a great look together and it was extremely easy to get some good shots of them. Veronica and Crystal did a great job on Melissa's new look as they always do with their clients.
Marlene Hernandez & David Suarez
David Suarez (Goddess of Dawn) had asked that I accompany him on a photo shoot with Marlene, who is his pick for the "Featured ClubFly" at ClubFlys.com. I figured I would be an assistant and be there to provide pointers if he needed them. As always, I had my camera gear with me so half way through the shoot, I decided to break it out and take some behind the scenes shots.
We were originally at some train tracks but then moved to an old warehouse a few miles away. I liked the look and feel of the warehouse and close environment that I was compelled to snap a few shots. To be honest, I actually snapped close to 200 shots. It was a good day even though the weather wasn't what was expected.
Marlene was a good sport and very easy to work with. David had told me that his pick for the "Featured ClubFly" was done by holding some sort of contest at one of the nightclubs he was photographing at. As you can tell, Marlene was the winner of the contest. One of the things about her that caught my eye was her Red Ribbon tattoos on the back of her legs. I found myself wanting to try to take artistic shots of them but I didn't want to hijack David's photo shoot with her. Maybe some other day...
The Scene Kids
First off, I have to express much Thanks to Crystal, from The Look Salon, for hooking up this photoshoot with Joey Couture and his friends. The shoot was short but we did manage to get in a good nine "looks" in a three block area of Fresno's Tower District. These kids were really fun to work with. They weren't afraid of doing anything at all. In fact, it was them who suggested some of the posing and locations.
As always, feel free to leave some feedback on this set. I love constructive criticism.

It's getting hot in here!
Summer time is near if not here early this year. We are here sitting in the living room watching the tube and complaining about today's high temperatures.
For a while there, I was thinking that I was sweating and all due to the first full on nude photoshoot I was doing for the past couple of hours. But when we were done, I opened to door to get some fresh air and realized that it was hotter outside. Time to close the door and turn on the A/C. Of course, it takes a while for a swamp cooler to bring the temperature down so in the meantime, the clothes are coming off! LOL. Must be a theme for the day!
Anyhow, back on the topic of the photoshoot... I had a vision in my mind of what I wanted to capture and I honestly feel that I think I got at least five shots spot on. Much Thanks to my male and female model who were extremely easy to work with. You guys rock!
Now it is time to wait for the sun to go down and for everything to cool off. Maybe even take the convertible out tonight and cruise the highway with the top down. Summer nights are bliss! Especially while on the desert highways with crystal clear skies. Warm dry air against the face and arms. The build up of sweat on the forehead which immediately dries to salt crystals upon exposure to the natural elements of the environment.
Traveling is in the blood. The desire to break from the mold and escape for at least a moment.
First Senior Portraits attempt
Thanks to Vero for setting this shoot up for me. I have finally completed my first attempt and taking senior portraits. Of course, my images are not your typical style of Senior Portraits but luckily for me, my style was desired for this job.
It was definitely a fun day. I had a good time working with Denise, her mother, Vero (The Look Salon), and even David (Goddess of Dawn). We had timed the shoot to be during sunset and with 4 different locations in mind, we were scrambling to hit them all within the short amount of time we had.
Please feel free to leave feedback for me. Thank you!
