Lasher Photography by Salvador Hernandez

ISO #1: Photog/Model Mixer/Shootout

ISO1

Earlier this week, there was a creation of an idea into what is now to be called "ISO". It is basically a gathering of photographers, models, and make-up artists. When you have several people who are interested in the same thing, things are sure to happen. We had a couple cameras, studio lights, background, and lots of great ideas all together in the same room. Good images were the result of this event.

Attendees of this first ISO event of several to come were as follows: Sal, Dino, Melissa, Judy, Bob, Arturo, Prisma, Natalie, and Veronica.

Sets of the images from this first edition of ISO can be seen at the following links:

Stay tuned for the next session of ISO! Remember, there is only a 2 hour notification before the event takes place. Details of location and time will only be released via MySpace Bulletin or Text Message two hours before the event starts. If you can't make it, you will need to wait until the next one.

ISO brought to you by Sal Hernandez (LasherPhoto) and Dino Paquiz (DPAQPhoto).

Getting back into things...

Finally got out and took some pictures this weekend. Feels good to finally shoot things that I take pleasure in seeing. You can check out the latest additions to my Photo Albums. I was kind of upset at myself because I took a few good shots but my settings on my camera were at the lowest resolution. Last time I was shooting things, I was taking pics for ebay items. What a bummer! Anyways, at least I was shooting things!

Had a good time this weekend (past couple days). Vero and I had a few arguments, as ussual, but we also had some quality moments. You know, those kind where you spend the next few days of the next couple weeks rethinking and reliving. Nothing that you can quite put a finger on, but the moments that happen to pop into your mind at the least expected times. Love those things!

Chicano State Univ T-Shirts

Orale! Vero and I just received our Chicano State University T-Shirts. SoyChicano.com is having a fundraiser to purchase a new server for the website. I bought Vero and some shirts. We are extremely pleased with the material and print quality. Looks like this will be the begining of a good business venture. Need to do away with the CafePress printing as the quality certainly does not measure up.

Here are a couple of pics I took with my camera phone. Enjoy!

Photos and bald heads

Not sure what is wrong with me but I have been taking some really bad photos lately. I sometimes find myself not into the photography for some reason. I want to, but when it comes to it, I end up taking these crappy shots and just put the camera down. Maybe it is a subject matter problem. Yeah right, as if I can ever place the blame elsewhere. Maybe I have too many other things on my mind right now. I realize that I used to take better pictures before when my head was clear and in the artistic mode. How strange how inside feelings affect what you see and how you see it.

Like I said, I have managed to take some pictures recently.. I will add them to my gallery soon.

Speaking of changes... As of yesterday, I have done something I have never done at any time during my life before. I shaved my head! Yep, it was all skin as of yesterday around 7pm. What in the world was I thinking? Hah, I have no idea but I do know I end up doing some spaztic things and very spontaneous at times. I have learned a valuable lesson after this event. Never again will I do it! Hah. Seriously. I had always wondered how I would look with a shaved head and now I know! Ugh! Check out these pics.. one from earlier this month, and one a few hours ago.

Raul@mexpix

I was turned on to a very inspiring person/website(Raul) by one of my members at Soy Chicano(DD).

Raul's website is awsome, I enjoed reading his blog posts and going through all of his pictures of his Mexican Pictures photoblog. Seeing his creations have re-sparked my ideas for my site and my photography pictures.

Thanks Raul!

"I met Sal Hernandez on MySpace through a friend. After seeing how good his work was, I set up an appointment to take some pictures with my boyfriend. When I arrived to his studio, I met his wife Vero and she was hella cool and I really clicked with her. I felt really comfortable at his studio and the session went well. Not only is Lasher Photography great, the hair and make up his wife does is excellent. I recommend him to anyone that needs professional pictures."
